Student Administrators

Student Administrators , or Admin , are the primary decision-making body of LGBTQ+ of FIRST, with the final vote on all important topics. Admin are expected to fulfill duties including but not limited to the scheduling and writing of blog posts; the supervision and management of the LGBTQ+ of FIRST Discord server; outreach at FIRST events. Only LGBTQ+ students who are currently members of a FRC or FTC Team may hold the position of Admin. 

Max C.

Class of 2019 | Team: FRC 2197, FTC 5300 | Indiana | Male | Bi | 2016 – Present

max.jpgMaddox, or Max to his friends, is the team captain of FRC 2197 and 2018 Dean’s List Finalist. He is also a member of FTC 5300. In his free time, he indulges in his passion for computer science and mentors FLL teams in his area.

People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.


Errica C.

Class of 2018 | Team: FRC 1073 | NE | Female | Pan | 2016 – Present


Errica is currently a co-CEO of Team 1073, The Force Team. She was previously the VP of Software and a 2017 Dean’s List Semifinalist. Aside from FRC, she is a Class Representative, participates in Tri-M, and figure skates.

That brain of mine is something more than merely mortal, as time will show.


Augustus D.

Class of 2018 | Team: FRC 3940 | Midwest | Male | Queer | 2016 – Present

Augustus, or Gus, is President of Team 3940, Cybertooth. He is also the electrical lead, driver, and a 2017 Deans List Quarterfinalist. Outside of robotics, he works at AndyMark, participates in his National Honors Society, and enjoys chemistry.

Some people think I am gay, which I think is awesome.


Liam F.

Class of 2018 | Team: FRC 2485 | West | Male | Gay | 2017 – Present


Liam is the Head of Business and Outreach on Team 2485 – the Francis Parker W.A.R. Lords, and an FLL mentor. He has also lead school workshops on diversity and inclusion and is deeply invested in LGBTQIA+ advocacy. Outside of the Chairman’s room, you’ll find him holding together parts while less clumsy people screw them together and doing improv.

Linnea F.

Class of 2019 | Team: FRC 2512 | Midwest | Female | Queer | 2016 – Present

Linnea does match strategy, pit scouts, and is the co-captain of the strategy department on her team. She is also on her school’s swim team and is an active member of the GSA.

The most dangerous phrase in the language is, “We’ve always done it this way.”


Katie J.

Class of 2019 | Team: FTC 3595 | Chesapeake | Female | Gay | 2017 – Present

Katie has grown up doing FIRST. She did FLL for two years, FRC for two years, and is going into her sixth year in FTC. She is also on Team USA for FIRST Global. Katie is a 2017 Dean’s List Finalist, in 2015 her FTC team won the Inspire Award at Worlds, and her FRC team won the Chairman’s Award at Houston Worlds in 2017.

When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.


Kiran L.

Class of 2018 | Team: FRC 2826 | Midwest | Female | Lesbian | 2016 – Present


Kiran is co-team lead, programmer, mechanical, drive team, and a 2017 Deans List Semifinalist. She participates actively in cross-country, forensics, and is co-editor in chief of her school newspaper. She also did a TEDx talk on women in STEM in 2016.

To bigotry, no sanction; To persecution, no assistance.


Doug S.

Class of 2019 | Team: FRC 4159 | West | Male| Bisexual | FtM | 2016 – Present


Doug is a remote student mentor for FRC 4159, as well as a RECON researcher at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is also an apprentice falconer.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.



Amon G.

Class of 2020 | Team: FRC 5530 | Michigan | Male | Gay | 2018 – Present

unnamed.jpegAmon is part of the build and scouting teams for his FRC team and has been a part of FIRST since 8th grade. His main ambition is mechanical engineering, but he thoroughly enjoys the spirit of competitions and the community of FRC. His achievements include working on a pit structure for his team over the summer of 2017, helping organize scouting for two years, and working with the coaches to organize trips to off season events.

Hayley Y.

Class of 2020 | Team: FRC 3132 | International | Female | Bisexual | 2018 – Present

Hayley is a mechanical lead, outreach student, drive team member, FLL mentor and a 2018 Deans List Finalist. She started the FIRST Help Now call centre and assisted in starting The Compass Alliance.
